Zach Cannon

Apprentice Therapist

Zach Cannon (He/Him) is currently working towards completing his Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling after graduating with a BA in Psychology with a Leadership minor. Zach is an Apprentice at Khesed receiving training and supervision as he counsels clients. Zach values process and the that healing often takes time. He utilizes a combination of Existential, Narrative, and Strengths-Based perspectives when approaching his collaborative work with people. As someone that grew up overseas in Poland for 13 years before making a difficult transition to the U.S., Zach developed a passion for helping create spaces of belonging both outside and within people. He loves to partner with clients in processing issues of identity, confusion, and transition. Zach believes cultivating a sense of belonging is core to experiencing health, and that often starts with digging into the stories people live, tell themselves, and tell others.

Zach specializes in Young Adults and older Adolescents Existential issues, Identity Development and Confusion, Transition, Loneliness, Multicultural Development, Career, Grief, and Depression.People that want someone to support them through the process of healing, to walk alongside them through feelings of loneliness, grief, or anxiety, and with whom to process difficult questions and themes embedded in their stories would benefit from working with Zach.In Zach's high school and college years, he worked with children and adolescents of all ages preparing to transition with their families between the U.S. and another country. This was a valuable experience that introduced him to a wide variety of cultural experiences. Zach is a big fan of both college football and professional football. He also spends much of his free time going to the movie theater, watching a funny show at home, or reading/writing poetry.
