Allie Carmichael

Apprentice Therapist

Allie (she/her) is pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health. She holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a minor in Poverty Studies and Social Justice. Allie takes a holistic view of each client, because our internal worlds are impacted by a variety of factors: our bodies, history, family of origin, communities, and systems that inherently affect us. We are all doing our best to survive in the contexts in which we live, which can sometimes mean picking up behaviors and thought patterns along the way that protect us in the moment, but cause complications later on. Relational safety between therapist and client allows for exploration in these areas, and with that awareness comes choice and empowerment. As people, we all carry within us the innate capacity for healing, and Allie uses a trauma-informed approach to access that capacity through body-based modalities, parts work, and a compassion-focused approach to support clients in expanding their sense of self-trust.

Allie believes that the therapeutic relationship is a sacred space unlike any other, and she is honored to come alongside folks in their healing journey. Allie has experience working with clients who are seeking support with anxiety, depression, body image, spirituality, sexuality, attachment wounds, religious trauma, and interpersonal issues. People with a desire to process past wounds and to grow in autonomy and self-compassion would benefit from working with Allie. Allie feels the most alive and whole when she is spending time in the mountains with her husband, running on trails near her home, reading a good book with a cup of coffee, or engaging in enriching conversations with loved ones.
