Monina Reyes

Pre-Licensed Therapist

Monina Reyes (She/Her/Ella) MS, EdS, LPCC, has a dual degree (Master's of Science & Education Specialist) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida State University and a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida. Monina is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate in Colorado.

Monina believes that there is so much power to be found within the therapeutic relationship. Her therapeutic approach centers around a social justice framework in order to humanize the mental health experience; she views her primary role as a therapist as one who shows up, listens, and empowers. She encourages the exploration of our relationship with our self and others through the use of person-centered, systemic modalities.

Monina finds immense joy in fostering genuine human connections. Her favorite moments as a therapist are when individuals find their way back to themselves through means of vulnerability and self-compassion.

Monina specializes in College-aged Students, Adults with Intersecting Marginalized Identities, LGBTQIA+ issues (Identity exploration and acceptance), Generational Trauma, Couples, and Self-Compassion Work. Individuals who are open to being vulnerable and committed to taking steps toward change may benefit from seeing Monina. Monina finds her lived experiences as a queer, first-generation Asian-American immigrant useful in her work as a therapist. She strives to seek commonality among differences.

Monina enjoys spending time at local coffee shops while reading, writing, and/or listening to music. She feels most herself when she is surrounded by her loved ones, her cats, and when she is enjoying the outdoors on a sunny day!
