Alex Elzinga

Apprentice Therapist

Alex (they/them) is earning their Master’s in Sport and Performance Psychology at the University of Denver. During Alex’s military service, they saw the need for an emphasis for trauma-informed, mental health and wellness, and strives to give back to the communities that mean the most to them.

As a queer nonbinary person, Alex understands the importance of finding a therapist who values the complexities of everyone's lived experience. Alex strives to create a space for people of all genders, sexualities, and intersecting identities with a person-centered approach, while acknowledging the complexities of the world around all of us and how they may affect the space.  Alex specializes in working with LGBTQIA+ folx, queer issues, sex- positivity, and athletes and performers of all kinds.

Alex's ideal clients include individuals interested and willing to explore themselves and how they navigate the world around them, and how we can collaborate on how to best approach the present and the future with grace and compassion for growth. Alex wants to empower their clients while they walk alongside them in their journey.

Alex loves hanging out with their two dogs, Charlie and Junebug, and their cat, Noodle. They also love checking out the Denver food scene, exploring the outdoors via hiking and camping, and playing sports of all kinds.
