The Khesed Fund

Sometimes life throws unexpected curveballs and we need support. The Khesed Fund exists for these moments.

  • Contractors and apprentices who have worked with Khesed for 90 days or longer are invited to apply once per calendar year.

  • Contractors and apprentices will need to have an active Consent to Receive Gifts form on file in order to receive any assistance.

  • Supervisors can nominate contractors and apprentices for both the Khesed Fund and a Khesed Kindness gift (a smaller gift to acknowledge a hardship that may not qualify for the Khesed Fund) as long as the recipient has consented to receive gifts from Khesed.

  • Applicants and nominated applicants may receive up to one Khesed Kindness gift and one Khesed Fund gift per year.

  • The application will be reviewed by DNA and leadership.

  • The applicant or nominated applicant will receive an emailed answer within five business days of submission.

  • Approved application funds will be included in a contractor’s next applicable payroll.

  • If you are in need of emergency financial assistance due to a life circumstance that you do not see listed, we invite you to apply.

  • If you have a special request about the confidentiality of your application, please share it in the request summary.

  • Funds are taxable.


Guidelines

The Khesed Fund includes:

  • Housing instability

  • Food instability

  • Inability to work, for example:

    • Unexpected hospital stays

    • Extended/chronic illness

    • Health-related struggles or injury

    • Bills/utilities directly impacting ability to work due to significant life change

  • Illness/health-related struggle that impacts your ability to work by 50%

  • Grieving/bereavement

  • Family job loss where financial status changes significantly

  • Natural disasters (fires, floods, catastrophic events that alter daily life significantly)

  • Gun tragedy impact

  • Other non-specified emergency

The Khesed Fund doesn’t include:

  • Child leave

  • Paid time off

  • Getting sick for fewer than two weeks

  • General licensure, business, and insurance fees

  • Business fees

  • Employee benefits

  • Professional development
