Immigrant & First-Generation Therapy
Therapy that understands crossing borders—both internal and external.
Being an immigrant or first-generation often means living between languages, cultures, and expectations. It can feel like carrying multiple worlds at once—honoring traditions, navigating new systems, and balancing family needs with your own.
At Kind, we offer therapy that recognizes this complexity. Here, you don’t have to translate yourself or leave parts of your identity behind. Our therapists provide care that honors your full experience—without forcing assimilation or denying who you are.
Why Immigrant & First-Generation Therapy Matters
Many immigrants and first-gen clients face:
Acculturation stress — navigating multiple cultures while pressured to “fit in”
Cultural grief — missing traditions, foods, languages, or loved ones left behind
Intergenerational trauma — carrying wounds from family stories, migration, or displacement
Mixed-status family challenges — living with uncertainty, fear, or systemic barriers
Isolation — feeling unseen or misunderstood in mainstream mental health care
We are here to walk with you through these realities—with therapists who understand both the pain and the strength of immigrant communities.
Confidentiality & Safety
Your story is yours alone. Every session is confidential and protected. We do not share your information with employers, schools, immigration authorities, or law enforcement—unless required by law and with your awareness.
By law, therapists must share limited information only in rare cases:
If you are in immediate danger of harming yourself or others
If we suspect abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or at-risk adult
If required by a court order
In those moments, only the minimum necessary information is shared, and we will inform you whenever possible.
This clarity is part of our promise: your safety and dignity come first.
