About Us

Khesed Wellness is a non-profit that exists to advance equity in mental healthcare. We believe that everyone deserves access to quality mental health therapy they can afford. Our sessions are $70/hour or FREE through our pro bono programs.

We currently provide virtual and in-person therapy services through site partnerships in Colorado, Texas, Michigan, and Illinois. Our team of over 30 therapists possess a variety of specialties and areas of expertise, with a diverse range of backgrounds and experience. We match new clients with the mental health therapist that is the best therapeutic and relational fit, and create an environment where therapists can thrive.

Our Corporate Program makes mental health coverage possible for small businesses and their employees. We provide customized support based on staff size and budget and monitor utilization to ensure every dollar invested goes directly to services utilized by staff.

What is Khesed?

Khesed is an action, a verb.

To take action, we need motivation, a reason, and a means.

This transcends the compartmentalization of work from life, and reflects our whole person.

There is part magic here, because to know and understand Khesed is to become the embodiment of khesed, “Loving kindness, especially for those on the margins.”

The DNA of Khesed is made up of our ethic, mission, vision, values, and the relationship between them in our whole person.

Our embodiment is how our knowledge of our ethic, mission, vision, and values transcends our cognition, unites with our heart and gut, and is lived out in our beings.

Our Ethic

Our ethic is the heartbeat, our why. It’s what centers and reminds us.

Khesed is Hebrew for loving kindness toward everyone, especially those on the margins. When the margins are centered, the collective can thrive.

When Khesed was named, we did extensive due diligence with the Jewish community and received the blessing of Jewish community leaders to proceed with our name. While Khesed is not a Jewish or religious organization, we center the ancient Jewish ethic of khesed, “Loving kindness, especially for those on the margins" in all we do.

Our Mission

Our mission is the material expression of our ethic, it’s our what.

We provide affordable outpatient mental health therapy for the underinsured.

Our Vision

Our vision is our horizon, where we are going because of what we believe.

We believe everyone deserves access to high-quality, affordable mental health therapy. It's a human right.

We will eliminate the top roadblocks to therapy for the underinsured: unaffordable costs, lack of insurance coverage, unavailable providers, and therapy deserts.

We will provide access to high-quality, affordable mental health therapy for the underinsured throughout all 50 states.

We will create a supportive environment where therapists can thrive.

Our Values

Our values are our how.

Reciprocity

The ethic of Khesed is an active flow of multi-dimensional reciprocity.

Khesed fosters relationships that look for opportunities to give and receive.

Extremes of only giving or only taking harm the flow of reciprocity.

Reciprocity centers the thriving of the individual and collective, together.

Abundance

We believe there is more than enough to thrive.

Experiencing abundance related to urgency, pace, and planning gives us the energy to embody khesed.

We know and value that diversity and abundance go hand-in-hand.

Khesed is an answer, not the answer for therapists and clients.

Invitation

Khesed grows through invitations from community leaders to start site partnerships, corporate programs, and/or pro bono programs.

Invitations prioritize relationships over transactions.

Khesed invites growth, connection, and collaboration throughout the year that honor the individual's choice to participate.

Invitation creates connection and allows for creativity and organic growth.

Anti-Oppression

Khesed is committed to creating an environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, so that they may be encouraged toward authentic thriving.

Khesed celebrates all identities and bodies, in all of their intersectional beauty.

Khesed welcomes individuals of every race, color, religion (creed) or spirituality, gender identity or expression, age, national or ethnic origin (ancestry), disability, marital or relationship status, sex (including pregnancy), sexual or romantic orientation, or military status, in all of its activities and operations.

Khesed honors body size diversity, supporting each individual’s unique body and lived experience in the pursuit of wellness.

Khesed is committed to being actively anti-racist as an organization and to deepening anti-racism efforts within the mental health industry as a whole.

Khesed is committed to LGBTQ+ advocacy, allyship, and affirmative therapy as core to who we are.

Khesed is an equal opportunity employer and will take affirmative action in all of its employment activities.

We look forward to you joining us as we strive to live into khesed individually and collectively.
